A magnetic material that inputs (writes), records, stores, and outputs (reads) sound, images, numbers, and the like using magnetic characteristics and magnetic effects.
Divided into magnetic recording media materials and magnetic head materials. The former mainly completes the information recording and storage functions, and the latter mainly completes the information writing and reading functions.
In 1898, a Danish engineer, Polnsen, invented the phonograph by magnetically recording the sound on a magnetic wire.
In the 1950s, hard disk technology and magnetic recording technology for storing electronic computer data were developed. The development and application of tape cameras in the 1980s is another new development in magnetic recording technology.
